NHS: Diabetes Prevention Programme

We provide tailored, personalised support to reduce your risk of Type 2 diabetes. This programme is a free serviceĀ for people living with Prediabetes and those who have a history of Gestational diabetes. You'll have the chance to learn about healthy eating, losing weight and exercising, the combination of lifestyle changes proven to help prevent the disease.

If you are at risk of diabetes and eligible for the programme speak about a referral with your GP surgery.

Who can use this service?

How are services delivered?

Aged over 18; registered with a GP in Mid and South Essex; not pregnant (unless you currently have Gestational Diabetes); able to do light/moderate physical activity; you have not been previously diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  

In-person programmes are held in a range of locations across Essex. You will also be able to attend our Digital and Tailored-remote group sessions online in the comfort of your home.
